Disability panel votes to weigh in on town meeting clock rules

Tyngsborough's Commission on Disability will ask the Select Board to make a planned town meeting countdown clock visible to the whole room, not just speakers. Chair Rae Ann Jacek said she'll draft a memo on the clock and on proposed rules limiting speaking time and reconsideration motions, working with ADA Coordinator Sean Walsh. Members approved July 13 minutes 5-1, with one abstention, after August's meeting missed quorum.
They voted unanimously to table review of the Select Board's new goals and values statement until October 5, planning input on communication and "fiscal responsibility" language so budget concerns don't restrict accommodations. Jacek reminded members "you're speaking for the commission" and warned against overpromising at outreach tables. The commission will staff a table at Saturday's Health and Safety Fair and plans a small tree for the Festival of Trees at Littlefield.
