Sudbury Commission on Disability approves three ADA anniversary pieces, authorizes Liberty Ledge presentation

Sudbury Commission on Disability clears ADA anniversary materials and sets July 30 Liberty Ledge pitch. The four-member commission voted 4-0 six times Wednesday, approving an ADA benefits infographic designed by member Cheryl Wallace, a companion article by member Karen Jones headed for the Sudbury Weekly and patch, and a plain-language ADA timeline by member Annika Hardy for the commission's webpage. Members also authorized Jones and Chair Leisha Quinto to present accessibility recommendations to the Liberty Ledge/Cesuotaro Advisory Committee on July 30, with a draft deck urging completion of the comprehensive accessibility study the town's ADA transition plan flagged as still owed on the property.

"We're really here to make sure that it's as inclusive, universally designed if possible, or ADA compliant," Jones said. On transportation, member Cheryl Wallace reported CATCH Connect's Framingham extension via Knobscot is in active planning with MWRTA, while a requested Maynard extension remains discussed but unscheduled. The commission's 2026 accessible cycling program has drawn 15, 28, 15 and 10 signups across its four Sudbury Foundation-funded events, and the Accessible Trick-or-Treat returns Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.
