Disability panel tables letter, sidewalk study review
Commission on Disability · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Tyngsborough's Commission on Disability shelved a detailed captioning complaint letter and a sidewalk study review, both pushed to November. Chair Rae Ann Jacek read a draft response to the town's Media Services department citing ADA Title II "effective communication" requirements and a 98-to-99-percent accuracy standard for CART captioning, but members voted to wait and see how the October Town Meeting goes before sending it. Vice Chair Peter Moore said the real problem is pacing: "Wait until the captioning has completed, everybody has a chance to read it, and then when he calls for the vote." Assistant Town Manager Sean Walsh said the Select Board is separately weighing electronic voting clickers after a nearly four-hour spring Town Meeting with more than 20 warrant articles.
Retiring Health Director Kerri Oun previewed an October 17 flu clinic and an October 21 Household Hazardous Waste Day. The sidewalk study was tabled unanimously to November 9 for lack of an appropriation to act on it.
