Cambridge Zoning Board Approves Special Permit For 7th Street Burger

Cambridge Zoning Board unanimously clears 7th Street Burger for Harvard Square. The Board of Zoning Appeal voted 5-0 to grant a special permit allowing the New York-based chain to open a quick-service restaurant at 37 Brattle Street, with attorney Sarah Radigan of Trilogy Law appearing for the petitioner. The shop plans 11 a.m. openings daily, closing at midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 2 a.m.
Thursday through Saturday, with roughly 20 seats. Board member Brendan Sullivan said "the marketplace will decide the need," while resident Jay Williamson raised concerns about delivery scooters and curbside congestion near Felipe's Taqueria. The Harvard Square Advisory Committee and Harvard Square Business Association both submitted letters of unanimous support.
A separate variance request for 127 Mount Auburn Street was continued to September 24.
