Arlington Zoning Board approves Dow Avenue permit, loses planned state law training when counsel doesn't show. Chair Christian Klein led the board through two unanimous 5-0 roll-call votes: approval of July 28 minutes and adoption of a written decision in docket 391044 granting a special permit for a covered landing on Dow Avenue. The board had hoped Town Counsel Michael Cunningham would join to brief members on recent changes to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A, but he never logged on despite Clerk Colleen Ralston's attempts to reach him.
"So rather than make people wait around in the hopes that he might join us, we may just need to close the meeting," Klein said. Members voted 5-0 to adjourn, leaving the Chapter 40A training unresolved ahead of an August 25 meeting with three cases on its docket.
