Watterson and Pesciardi Elected Chairs of Concord-Carlisle and Concord School Committees
CONCORD — June 3, 2026 — Concord-Carlisle and Concord school committees elected new officers Wednesday in back-to-back contested votes. Brian Watterson was chosen chair of the Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee over Michael Williams, who was twice placed in nomination — once for the regional chair and once for the Concord School Committee chair — and was defeated both times. Sandeep Pesciardi was elected Concord School Committee chair; Tracy Morano and Andrew Hercheck were elected vice chairs of the regional and Concord committees, respectively, each also over competing nominations for Williams. The committees unanimously accepted a record $64,732 grant from the Concord Education Fund, which funded 17 of 31 applications this year covering mental health, special education technology, and student athlete support. The committees also approved six replacement parking spaces at CCHS to satisfy a special-permit condition before construction can begin on the Maisie O'Donnell Dryland Training Center, and authorized a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment for all non-union personnel in both districts.
