Concord-Carlisle School Committees Elect New Officers, Approve Diving Center Parking Plan

CARLISLE — June 3, 2026 — Concord-Carlisle school committees reorganize and clear a key hurdle for the Maisie O'Donnell Diving Center. At their June 3 joint meeting, the Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee elected Brian Watterson, a Carlisle member, as chair and Tracy Marano as vice chair after contested votes in which amendments to substitute Michael Williams failed in both races; the Concord School Committee separately elected Sandeep Pichirardi chair and Andrew Herchek vice chair, again over failed Williams amendments. Both committees voted unanimously to approve six replacement parking spaces on the CCHS campus, satisfying a special-permit requirement for 136 total Beattie Center spaces and allowing CC Pools to submit a permit application to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals within weeks; project representative Sandy Smith said construction could begin in early fall 2026. The committees also accepted a $64,732 donation from the Concord Education Fund, covering 17 of a record 31 grant applications and spanning mental health, assistive technology, and student-athlete wellness programs; and voted unanimously to approve a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment plus market increases for all non-union staff in both districts for FY27.
