Townsend Conservation Commission approves Briar Way addition, ratifies Main Street stormwater enforcement order. Chair James Gates presided as the board voted unanimously to issue a standard order of conditions for a demolition and addition project at 3 Briar Way, after engineer Ryan Proctor corrected a filing-fee error that brought the town's total fee to $442.50. The commission also ratified an enforcement order against the Harbor Village Shops property at 18 Main Street for a stormwater washout that carried sediment into adjacent wetlands, and continued a contested three-lot Seaver Road subdivision hearing, filed by Belvedere Capital, to September 23 after abutter Bob Allot raised unresolved bylaw questions.
Commissioners, operating without a permanent conservation agent, also weighed a new state permitting mandate for small clean-energy projects taking effect October 1, with Commissioner Kim Greenough asking pointedly, "What are we going to lose if we don't do this process?"
