Littleton Historical Commission votes to protect Orchard House additions, flags a historic home at imminent demolition risk. Members voted to include a 1965-1978 connector and east addition under the property's preservation restriction at the same level as the circa-1922 main house, with one abstention over an employer conflict, and authorized member Linda Stein to finalize the roughly 65-page document with town counsel. "I think it's probably safer to keep it in," one member said of the additions.
Separately, the commission said it has no legal recourse to stop equipment staged on the lawn of another historic property, known during discussion as the Paul Glady house, absent a filed demolition permit. A joint session with the Affordable Housing Trust on the Durkee Farmhouse, funded partly through a $6,481 Community Preservation Committee grant, was postponed to October 14 after trust representatives could not attend.
