Sudbury 250 Committee locks in logistics for May 16 town center celebration. Meeting January 7, the committee approved a plan developed with Police Chief Scott Nix, DPW head Tina Rewa and Lila Frank of the Select Board's office that bars parking at the town center, routes attendees through Featherland Park with a possible overflow at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, and runs five shuttle vans to a drop-off near the noise field. Cannon firings by Crane's Artillery in Heritage Park will pause during a 12:30-to-1:30 p.m. play at the First Parish meeting house, and colonial dance demonstrations were moved to 11 a.m. in front of Town Hall.

Committee member John urged recruiting Boy Scouts for parking, saying they had been "a tremendous asset" at prior events. Andrea Ressler warned the cannon would rattle the Hosmer House collections and offered to borrow a 12-foot lantern from Concord. The committee anticipates renting six to eight portable toilets at roughly $250 each and expects up to 2,000 attendees.
