Sudbury 250 Committee approves June minutes, plans final report to Select Board

250 Committee · Meeting of July 15, 2026

Sudbury 250 Committee wraps parade, eyes September sunset with about $11,000 left. Chair Radha Gargeya reported the committee's July 4 float, built on a truck donated by local business A Blade of Grass, took first prize in its division and served as the committee's final major public event. Gargeya said the committee spent roughly $3,000 of the $15,000 Town Meeting appropriation, on top of $25,000 in ARPA funds, with a remaining balance of about $12,075 before a $1,000 artillery-firing invoice — staff liaison James put the adjusted total closer to $11,000.

Joe of Sudbury Wine and Spirits has agreed to purchase remaining T-shirts, caps, tote bags, and beer steins. Members voted 5-0 to approve amended June 3 minutes and will present a final report to the Select Board on August 11. Gargeya and member Jan Hardenberg will co-produce a Sudbury book of record before the committee dissolves in September.
