Sudbury 250 Committee approves 1,500 commemorative pins, finalizes annual report

Sudbury 250 Committee locks in commemorative pins and annual report ahead of May 16 celebration. Members voted unanimously Wednesday to order 1,500 one-inch hard enamel pins at $1.21 each, roughly $1,815 before shipping, with member Jan Hardenberg proposing they be handed out free to riders who use a shuttle from remote parking. Chair Rod Gargay reported the Henry Knox event Feb. 1 at Martha-Mary Chapel drew about 50 attendees and confirmed Sudbury police will not close roads in the town center on May 16.

Sudbury Extended Day business manager Christina Deignan and Executive Director Mary Weldon appeared to plan children's games at Noyes Field, saying they would skip a bouncy house because of liability but set up tents themed around the 250th. The committee also approved its 2025 annual report and noted about $12,000 in remaining ARPA funds must be spent by Dec. 31.
