NRPD Sets Friday Detour for Route 62/Elm Street

NORTH READING — Drivers should plan for an eastbound detour on Route 62/Elm Street starting Friday, and the Select Board is looking for volunteers to fill out a committee that will evaluate potential municipal building sites.

TOWN HALL The North Reading Police Department announced Wednesday that eastbound Route 62/Elm Street will be detoured on Friday, July 17. The department did not specify detour hours or an alternate route in its notice; drivers headed that direction should expect delays or plan an alternate route for the day.

Separately, the Select Board is recruiting residents to serve on a newly forming Site Evaluation Committee, according to a notice posted Wednesday. The board did not detail the committee's charge or application deadline in the announcement.

COMING UP Several town meetings and programs are on the calendar for the coming week. On Monday, July 20, the town will host a Narcan training session, the Parks & Recreation Committee meets, and the Select Board holds a hybrid meeting. The Board of Registrars meets Tuesday, July 21.
