Marlborough Names Coastal Medical Transportation New Ambulance Provider
MARLBOROUGH — Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced this week that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems will become the city's new provider of emergency ambulance services, even as the Board of Health confirmed that West Nile virus has turned up in mosquitoes trapped in Marlborough. Regionally, two credit unions with a Marlborough branch disclosed plans to merge into a $1 billion institution, according to MetroWest Daily News.
TOWN HALL Mayor Dumais's office announced that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems, known as Coastal, will take over as the city's emergency ambulance provider, a change the mayor's office framed as strengthening the city's emergency response. The announcement was posted as a press release from the Office of Mayor J. Christian Dumais.
Separately, the city's Board of Health confirmed that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health detected West Nile virus in mosquitoes collected in Marlborough. City officials urged residents to use insect repellent, wear protective clothing during peak mosquito hours and eliminate standing water around their homes — a finding Marlborough Patch also covered this week.
