Littleton Wins Grant to Advance Accessibility Improvements

LITTLETON — Littleton has landed a new grant to advance accessibility improvements around town, according to a town announcement, while crews continue work on the Shattuck Street traffic island that is expected to bring delays for several more weeks.

The town announced this week that Littleton has been awarded a grant aimed at "advancing accessibility" in town, according to a News Flash posted to the town website. No additional details on the scope or funding amount were included in the announcement.

Drivers should expect continued delays around the Shattuck Street traffic island, where work that began the week of July 20 remains underway, the town said. The town did not specify an end date for the project.

Separately, the town flagged that in-person early voting for the State Primary is available, directing residents to check the town clerk's office for details. The town did not post specific early-voting dates or hours in the alert.

Littleton Public Schools is flagging a "Shaker Lane Building Project Update" as a featured item on its website, though the district did not publish additional details on the update as of this week. COMING UP

The Select Board and Finance Committee hold a joint meeting Monday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. in Room 103 at Town Hall, followed by a Finance Committee session at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Assessors meets virtually Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. That evening, the Historical Commission meets at 7 p.m. in Room 103, while the Conservation Commission holds its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. followed by a public hearing at 7:45 p.m., both via Zoom.

The Planning Board meets Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in Multi-Purpose Room 1 at the Center on Shattuck Street.
