Medford School Committee Approves Superintendent's Year Goals, CTE Honors Pilot

Medford School Committee unanimously backs superintendent's 2026-27 goals and a new CTE honors track. The committee approved Superintendent Galussi's goals, including getting 80 percent of kindergartners and first graders to reading benchmarks by June 2027 and narrowing advanced-coursework gaps for low-income students and students of color. Dr.
Kim Talbot and CTE Executive Director Chad Fallon unveiled a Career Technical Education Honors Pilot letting juniors and seniors in four majors earn weighted credit through co-op work or a new capstone project, calling it "optional, earned, and performance based." Member Jessica Parks touted after-school enrollment growth from 407 to 568 students with the districtwide waitlist falling from 212 to 68, and a $10,000 Watts Water Technologies donation was approved as part of the consent agenda.
