Concord school committees adopt a climate and culture framework and OK near-zero-balance FY26 budgets. The Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee and Concord School Committee unanimously adopted a new framework tracking bullying, bias, well-being and academic data together three times a year, then dissolved the working group that built it. Finance officer Bob reported the regional district closed FY26 with a $706 unspent balance on a $40.38 million budget, while Concord Public Schools closed $579 under its $47.7 million budget.
Parent Brittany Horton, who said she works at Anthropic, urged an AI device "allow list" and family opt-in process for student tools. The committee also revised the eighth-grade Washington, D.C. trip to three nights at $1,649 per student and left a 15-page, 20-year Ellen Garrison Building rooftop solar agreement under legal review, with member questions due to the chair by September 27.
