Board continues well-PFAS hearing to Oct. 5

Groton Board of Health opens hearing on cutting well PFAS limit from 20 to 4 parts per trillion. Members Michelle Collette and Bob Fleischer heard from more than a dozen residents, many on Nashua Road, reporting results from 10.2 to 35 parts per trillion in wells outside the town's mapped high school contamination plume. Health agent Kayleen Gendron, of the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, said the town will explore mapping submitted test results and asked residents to email data to health@grotonma.gov.
Resident Steven Spear said, "I've emailed the Board of Health. I've gotten no reply, so I'm kind of disheartened by that." The board voted unanimously to continue the hearing to Oct. 5, also fielding noise complaints at 31 Adams Avenue and 135 Skyfield Drive, and closing out a resolved DEP chemical-storage complaint.
