Weston Conservation Commission Approves Beaver Road Pool Project, Issues Four Compliance Certificates

Weston Conservation Commission unanimously approved a pool and pool house project and cleared four compliance certificates at its July 21 remote meeting. The commission voted to close the hearing and issue an order of conditions for 144 Beaver Road, DEP 337-1522, where applicant Xi Dong Sui proposes a pool, pool house, Cultec stormwater system, and retaining wall, with work partly within the 100-foot buffer zone to Bordering Vegetated Wetland; wetland scientist Jacob Crossan of Goddard Consulting said replacement plantings of five native trees exceed the bylaw's one-to-one requirement and that targeted knotweed management will be conditioned in the permit. The commission also issued a full certificate of compliance for the Mass Central Rail Trail Bridge over the Fitchburg commuter rail line, DEP 337-1468, after a representative identified as Gerald reported the 520-foot shared-use path is fully stabilized and noted roughly 13 miles of contiguous trail from Jones Road in Waltham to Hudson Center could be complete within a few years.
Certificates were also issued for 183 Conant Road (partial), 317 Glen Road (full, for a never-commenced 2018 project), and 21 Chestnut Street (full). A presentation on Weston's 2026 Housing Production Plan Update by Town Planner Imai Aiu was postponed to August 4 after Aiu did not appear.
