Wayland capital committee frets over stalled CIP forms with October deadline looming. Chair Kelly Lappin told the Capital Improvement Planning Committee on July 22 that she had received no confirmation the town manager sent the revised five-year CIP submission form to department heads, and no response to two follow-up emails. Acting Chair Bradford Carver agreed to email the town manager immediately.

Members also reviewed a rough $22 million gut-rehab estimate for the town building — a figure Select Board member Bill Whitney flagged as lacking any contingency — and voted unanimously to ask Select Board liaison Carol Martin to consider adding a CIPC seat to a new Town Building Working and Visioning Group. "I don't know why you wouldn't want that. I don't know why you would want that completely blind," Lappin said of the omission.

The committee also approved July 6 minutes and named member Elizabeth Lusky acting chair for the Aug. 5 meeting if both Lappin and John Kliem are absent.
