Wayland's capital committee questioned a $2 million school study request accelerated two years to fiscal 2028. Wayland Public Schools Director of Finance and Operations Kirsteen Patterson told the Capital Improvement Planning Committee the Massachusetts School Building Authority feasibility study moved from fiscal 2030 because the district files statements of interest in April and must show local funding to be invited in. Member Brian O'Herlihy said Finance Director Brian Keveny wants it funded as excluded debt through a separate 2027 Annual Town Meeting article, since five year amortization means "400 grand a year principal, which would hit the tax levy." IT Director Nick Lombardi said one software contract went "from $45,000 to $128,000 in one year" and agreed to revise his estimates within a week.

The committee approved its FY2026 Annual Report 4-0.
