Acton Library Launches New Sensory Storytime Program
Acton's summer calendar stayed busy Thursday with a NARA concert night on tap and library programs running through the week, while state and regional coverage flagged beach closures and a highly-ranked Massachusetts school system report.

The town's July Municipal Monthly newsletter is now available for download via the town website, offering residents a roundup of municipal updates. The town's homepage also continues to highlight several active infrastructure initiatives, including the Kelley's Corner Infrastructure Project, the Powder Mill Road Sewer Extension Project, the DPW Facility Project, and the MBTA/South Acton Village Planning process, all listed among current town projects.
Town committees have a busy week ahead, with the 250th Committee and Finance Subcommittee both meeting Monday, July 27, and the Planning Board meeting Tuesday, July 28.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Acton Public Library's summer lineup remains active this week. A new Sensory Storytime program launches Monday, July 27, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., designed for children ages 3-11 who benefit from a modified, low-sensory storytime experience, with registration capped at six participants and led by consultant Shanon Stevens.
The library's "America 250 – Reading is Revolutionary!" storytime continues Tuesday, July 28, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., featuring stories about figures who shaped the nation. The free "Lunch Bunch" summer food program for children and teens ages 2-18 continues Tuesdays and Wednesdays through July 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Grab & Go craft kits from Ms. Aliza are available Friday, July 24, while the library's D&D Summer Club meets Wednesday, July 29, and a Peace Crane folding session and YA Games Day are both set for Thursday, July 30.
At NARA Park, the Summer Concert Series continues Friday, July 24, with "Shot of Poison," a tribute act, and a Kids Night featuring Jeff Jam on Tuesday, July 28.
