Sunshine Paving To Begin Work On 12 Sudbury Roads Monday

Sunshine Paving crews will begin work on a dozen Sudbury roads Monday under the town's 2026 annual paving project, the Department of Public Works announced, while the town also unveiled free World Cup watch parties and a tick-and-mosquito safety talk at Goodnow Library.

The Department of Public Works announced that Sunshine Paving will begin work Monday, July 13, on the town's 2026 Annual Paving Project, which covers a dozen roads around Sudbury. The DPW's announcement did not specify which streets are included, though Sudbury Patch reports separately on the same project (see below).

The Parks and Recreation Commission announced free FIFA World Cup watch parties at the Fairbank Community Center, set for Saturday, July 18, at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, at 2:30 p.m.

The town's Health Department announced a tick and mosquito safety program at Goodnow Library on Tuesday, July 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in which the Great Meadows Regional Grant program will demonstrate ways for residents to protect themselves, family members and pets from tick- and mosquito-borne illnesses.

SCHOOLS

The Sudbury Public Schools School Committee released its agenda packet for the July 6 meeting and posted a projected enrollment update as of July 1, according to the district's news page. The School Committee's next meetings are scheduled for July 20 and July 27, with the August 3 meeting time and location to be determined.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Sudbury Senior Center announced an Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Games event on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., inviting residents to build their own sundaes and take part in outdoor games at the center. The center also announced a Game Shows and Pizza night with Kevin Richman on Tuesday, July 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., featuring game-show-style activities modeled on Family Feud, Jeopardy!, and Wheel of Fortune.

The Senior Center also disclosed that it received a $225,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, awarded in June, to support its programs and services.
