Littleton Historical Commission reelects Stein, orders two new markers

Littleton Historical Commission reelects its chair and works through a marker mix-up with the DPW. Chair Linda Stein was unanimously reelected, with Andrew Watt returning as vice chair and Kristopher O. Dalen elected clerk, replacing longtime member Jonathan Liebowitz, who did not renew his term.

Stein said "there was a gap in communication" between the commission and the Department of Public Works, which installed several new bronze-plaque markers before final locations were settled; the commission opted to keep those installations rather than reorder. Members agreed to order two new granite slabs — for a marker near Warren's Gristmill and one for the Nashoba Praying Indian Town site — at $762.13 per slab plus $355 delivery through vendor Swenson. Dalen also takes over the town's house-signs program from Liebowitz.

The commission's awards ceremony for four honorees, including former member John Ledger, was pushed to September, and the panel moved its next meeting to August 4 to accommodate members' schedules.
