Stow declares Level 3 critical drought status

STOW — Stow has posted a Level 3 Critical Drought alert on its town website, the most serious tier in the state's drought classification system, as officials also promote a milestone report on 25 years of Community Preservation Act projects and notify residents of two active road-construction projects.

The town's website carries a "Level 3 Critical Drought" alert at the top of its homepage, directing residents to the town's Alert Center for details. The designation is the town's most urgent water-conservation notice of the summer.

Stow also published its July 2026 Municipal Message, the town's regular newsletter, and released a companion report marking 25 years of the Community Preservation Act in Stow, highlighting projects funded through the program over the past quarter-century.

Two infrastructure notices remain posted for residents: a road-closure notice for Barton Road, and an update on the Crescent Street Sidewalk Project, where construction of new sidewalks got underway July 2 and remains ongoing.
