SHERBORN — May 19, 2026 — Sherborn Planning Board schedules June 9 public hearing on Meadowbrook Commons as aqueduct safety questions emerge. The board, meeting May 19 and welcoming newly elected members Chris Brown and Jim Goggins, set a 7:15 p.m. hearing date for the Toll Brothers development at 65 Farm Road, with Tetra Tech engaged as peer reviewer pending a procurement contract. Brown raised detailed concerns about Gray Road, the proposed emergency access route crossing the nineteenth-century Sudbury Aqueduct, warning that fire apparatus weighing 40,000 pounds or more could be crossing an unverified brick tunnel: "I would just hate for anybody to make an assumption that they can run a 40,000-pound vehicle over two courses of brick without it falling in." He calculated that one inch of rain over the 1,000-foot driveway would generate roughly 13,700 gallons of runoff currently absorbed by undisturbed ground, with the gradient favoring flow toward Coolidge Street and abutting farms. A Meadowbrook Road resident asked how 67 proposed basements and associated blasting would affect local wells and Meadowbrook Pond, noting a smaller development 25 years ago raised her yard's water table by approximately three feet.
