Planning Board OKs Worcester Road units, Jack's Abbey street event

Framingham Planning Board previews zoning overlays for TJX's campus and the Waverly Street corridor while clearing two smaller projects. The board unanimously approved a special permit letting Jack's Abbey Brewing Company close Clinton Street for an October 2-4 Oktoberfest, with acting general manager Davis Norton promising a beer garden, live music and a police detail. It also approved special permits for a five-unit, 22-space mixed-use building at 1001 Worcester Road after architect Bonnie Tan addressed a neighboring business's entrance concerns.
Planning staff member Sarkeesian, joined by City Councilor John Stefanini, previewed a Waverly Street Overlay District capping most new buildings at three stories with a 1.30-space-per-unit parking ratio, plus a proposed overlay letting TJX Companies raise its Golden Triangle floor-area ratio from .40 to .60 to build a connected campus. "We're very lucky to have TJX in our community," Sarkeesian said. The board also continued review of a 48-unit building at 121 Concord Street to October 1 for revised landscaping and colors.
