Sherborn Planning Board Approves 65 Farm Road Common Driveway Special Permit
Planning Board · Meeting of February 24, 2026
Sherborn Planning Board unanimously approved a common driveway special permit for 65 Farm Road, authorizing one shared driveway to serve three building lots. The board voted 5-0 to grant the permit with six conditions, including a requirement that the driveway follow the layout on an ANR plan recorded at Middlesex South Registry of Deeds Book 2026, Page 64, that the DPW driveway permit reflect the Fire Chief's requirement for a 15-foot-wide roadway and a turnaround at lot 6, and that construction be completed by February 24, 2028. Abutters Mary and Brian Moore of 49 Farm Road opposed the permit in writing, asking for single-family building restrictions and lot-line conditions; Town Planner Heidi Doyle told the board that restricting building types and lot-line changes "is not meant to be addressed" in a common driveway special permit.
In a separate 5-0 vote, the board approved revised warrant language on miscellaneous zoning bylaw updates, incorporating Select Board feedback, and continued a contentious stormwater bylaw hearing — where Silverwood Organic Farm's Jonathan Hodson-Walker pushed to remove the word "normal" from the agricultural exemption — to March 3.
