Planning Board authorizes peer review for Loker Street Dover Amendment project

WAYLAND — March 11, 2026 — Wayland Planning Board greenlights joint peer review for Loker Street Dover Amendment project. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to authorize Town Planner Robert Hummel to procure a joint peer review with the Conservation Commission and Board of Health for a proposed five- or six-unit shared-living facility at 67A Loker Street, also known as 1 Hobbs Road, once the application is certified complete. Chair Anette Lewis reported the Select Board on March 9 split 3-2 against the board's Route 20 West sub-district article even as the Finance Committee backed it 6-0, with member Tom Fay calling the corridor "the gateway to Wayland" despite nearby buildings reaching 58 feet under prior variances. The board also voted 5-0 to split its Planning Board Report into two documents after withdrawing a ground-mounted solar article, leaving four zoning articles bound for the May 4 annual Town Meeting. Members agreed to hold a required public hearing on a Select Board-filed appeals article, with Lewis warning the draft "opens up Pandora's box."
