Housing Authority Awards $131,316 Bent Park Pipe Deal

Housing Authority · Meeting of October 8, 2026

Wayland Housing Authority awarded a $131,316 contract to replace wastewater piping at Bent Park on a 3-0 roll-call vote. Commissioners Mary Antes, Denise Fortin and presiding officer Susan Weinstein approved the contract after staff member Brian Bogia reported the authority received six bids ranging from $131,000 to $284,000, with engineers recommending the low qualified bidder over price alone. Weinstein defended the pick, saying, "If we can't trust our architect, who can we trust?" The board also learned the Sudbury Housing Authority's executive director is departing and discussed informally meeting with Sudbury's board about possible cooperation.

The meeting, held remotely and lasting about five minutes, adjourned at 1:48 p.m. on another 3-0 vote, with the next session set for October 22 at 6:30 p.m. in person at Bent Park.
