Holliston working group pushes $2.5 million high school feasibility study ahead of May 11 town meeting vote. Select Board member Tina Hine and School Committee members Francis Ogura and Hilary Bresnahan appeared on the community program "Just Thinking" Thursday to urge resident turnout for Article 25, which requires a two-thirds majority to pass. Hine described the study as the mandatory gateway into the Massachusetts School Building Authority's new-building program, which offers up to 50 percent grant reimbursement.
The panel outlined a 13-member school building committee — seven voting, six non-voting staff — to be formed after a favorable vote, with appointments targeted by end of June. Cost estimates for eventual construction run roughly $1,000 per square foot, with a five-to-seven-year timeline from the June 1 MSBA eligibility start date. "The vote of yes needs two-thirds of town meeting voters," Hine said directly to camera.
