Fire station committee votes to advance $4.2 million in cuts

Town News Brief _ · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Tyngsborough fire station committee finds $4.2 million in cuts, eyes $19 million price. The Fire Station Building Committee voted unanimously to send the trimmed options, which reduce office, storage and training space, to the Select Board, saying "a final price would depend on the design and construction market." Separately, the Planning Board pushed back on a traffic plan for a proposed diesel fueling facility on Westford Road that would route tractor-trailers past a daycare and dance studio via Industrial Way; the applicant agreed to explore a new layout before the hearing resumes in September. Early voting for the state primary opened Monday at Town Hall, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., no appointment needed.

The Party by the Bridge returns Saturday from 11 a.m. until dusk, with $5 tickets available at partybythebridge.com or at the door.
