Select Board approves bylaw exemption on 3-0 consent vote
Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Natick Select Board clears bylaw exemption in five-minute meeting as moderator pushes town meeting recruitment. The board voted 3-0-0 on a roll call to approve its consent agenda, including a request for exemption from Town Bylaws Chapter 41, Section 4, for Kurt McDowell and James Hickman. Town Moderator Jeff Alderson used public speak to announce a September 17 caucus at Natick Town Hall to fill town meeting vacancies in precincts 1, 3, 8, 9 and 10 before the October 20 fall Annual Town Meeting, saying his goal is "100 percent representation" for town meeting.
Alderson also flagged an open Natick Finance Committee seat, urging residents to apply online before that committee begins reviewing warrant articles. The board took no executive session and adjourned by another 3-0-0 roll call at 12:06 p.m., six minutes after convening.
