Town News Brief _ · Meeting of August 20, 2026
Tyngsborough Town Hall's sprinkler system needs replacing after inspectors found significant corrosion, at an estimated cost of at least $385,000. The Capital Asset Management Committee learned Wednesday that the final price tag could reach roughly $500,000 once the full scope of work is set, according to Tyngsborough Media's Town News Brief. "An early estimate puts replacement at no less than $385,000, with the final cost possibly reaching half a million." Separately, DPW closed Mossapog Road to through traffic Thursday for a two-day drainage repair near Geraldine Place, with the road reopening overnight during the project.
Early voting for the September 1 primary opens Saturday at Town Hall, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with more hours added next week. Organizers of the August 29 block party by the bridge still need volunteers for about 60 remaining shifts.
