Electric Supply Rate To Rise This Fall
Town News Brief _ · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Tyngsborough electricity customers brace for an $18-a-month jump as a police-fire building vote nears. The town's community choice program rate will rise from just under 13 cents to over 16 cents per kilowatt-hour starting with November meter reads, under a new one-year deal with First Point Power; the rate still beats National Grid's basic service, with officials projecting about $7 a month in savings through January. The School Committee voted Tuesday to approve the elementary school's solar canopy project after a year of review, authorizing the chair to sign agreements.
The Conservation Commission cleared wetland boundaries on Dunstable Road and a septic plan at 3 Canton Road, while continuing cases at 95 and 99 Westford Road to October 27 and 84 Kendall Road to October 6. Town Manager Colin Loisel detailed a proposed combined police and fire safety building at 100 Potash Hill Road, with voters set to weigh in within weeks.
