Concord Preservation Panel OKs Minutes, Sets Teams

Other Committee · Meeting of September 28, 2026

Concord preservation panel splits 15 funding bids, worth nearly $4 million, among review teams. The Community Preservation Committee unanimously accepted its Aug. 11 minutes, 8-0, then assigned two-member teams to study requests including $670,000 for a West Concord Park land acquisition, $500,000 each for the Concord Municipal Affordable Housing Trust and Alcott Elementary School's playground, $250,000 to seed a new conservation fund, and $133,562 for the Concord Masonic Corporation's roof. Member Jeff Collins recused himself from the park acquisition, citing a signed petition and his wife's involvement.

Chair Diane said the panel must "figure out how we best and most fairly adjudicate" requests nearly double its available funds. Site visits are set for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3; the committee adjourned by unanimous 8-0 roll call.
