Carlisle Schedules Special Town Meeting for November 16
Carlisle has set Nov. 16 as the date for a Special Town Meeting, to be held in the Corey Auditorium and cafeteria at Carlisle Public School, the town announced this week. Officials said more detail on the warrant will be posted as the meeting date approaches.

The Special Town Meeting notice was the most significant item in this week's town updates, giving residents roughly two months' notice ahead of the session. The town has not yet released a warrant or agenda.
Town Hall's elevators remain out of service, a condition that began Sept. 2. Residents needing the Town Clerk or the Council on Aging and Human Services should seek help from those offices' first-floor locations in the meantime. Separately, the cardboard container at the Transfer Station is out of service; residents are asked to follow posted signage for disposal instructions.
The town also posted its September Municipal Newsletter, which rounds up monthly Town of Carlisle and community news and remains open to submissions from local groups.
SCHOOLS
Carlisle Public Schools posted the September edition of "The Buzz," its recurring family newsletter, to the district website this month, giving parents updated school-year information.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
A new three-part environmental film series opens this fall at First Religious Society, 27 School St., free and open to all, including children 10 and older. The series examines how everyday consumption and waste affect the planet and public health.
Separately, Carlisle's Environmental Sustainability Committee is launching "Mammal of the Month," a new recurring feature meant to introduce residents to the wild animals that share their yards.
COMING UP
Carlisle boards have a full week ahead. On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Historical Commission meets jointly with the Council on Aging and Human Services at 10:30 a.m. at St. Irene's Church, 181 East Street, while the Trails Committee holds a joint hybrid session with the Select Board at 7 p.m., followed by the Select Board's own hybrid meeting at 66 Westford Street.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, the Board of Assessors meets at 8 a.m., the Municipal Facilities Committee at 9 a.m., the Finance Committee at 7 p.m. and the Conservation Commission, remotely, at 7 p.m., all at or via 66 Westford Street. The Concord-Carlisle Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee meets Friday, Sept. 25, at noon at 120 Meriam Road in Concord.
