Boxborough Finance Committee approves $7,800 for storm-damaged tree removal, confirms fire station land purchase closed. Chair Antony Newton and members Michelle Ryan, Joseph Stulpin and Maria Neyland voted 4-0 for the Department of Public Works transfer, up from an earlier $4,400 estimate once stump grinding was added. Newton reported the town closed on its new fire station property in late July and that the building committee has settled on a single-floor design, with preliminary plans headed to the Planning Board in September.

Assistant Town Administrator Rajon Hudson walked the committee through staffing-count discrepancies between department org charts and the town's payroll dashboard, including a gap of two positions in both Town Hall and the Police Department. Members also drafted, without voting, new budget-transfer rules and a proposed $180,000-plus reserve fund funded by free cash. "It cannot be us being the only ones that are tracking these budget transfers," Newton said.
