Wayland Conservation Commission continues four wetlands cases, closes out gas line project

WAYLAND — January 7, 2026 — Wayland Conservation Commission clears short January agenda in 20 minutes. Chair Sean Fair gaveled in at 6:32 p.m. and adjourned at 6:52 with six of seven members present; Vice-Chair Shannon Fischer was absent. The commission continued four pending wetlands hearings — the Carroll School Request for Determination at 37-45 Waltham Road, Melissa Haley's after-the-fact Notice of Intent at 108 Lakeshore Drive, Matt O'Connor's six-unit Compact Apartment Facility at 67A Loker Street, and Jeremy Jenkins's after-the-fact dock and patio work at 68 Lakeshore Drive — all to Jan. 28, and pushed the St. Philopater Mercurius & St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church's 169 Rice Road project to March 4. Members voted 6-0 to issue a Certificate of Compliance for the Dudley and Pine Road gas line and to return the performance bond for 142 Glezen Lane (DEP 322-739), a 2012-era file. Administrator Linda Hansen flagged a Pine Brook flow issue tied to boulders and a weir at a Mainstone Road farm pond, saying she has asked the town surveyor to map the Rice Road right-of-way. "Asking a question is perfectly fine," member Luke Legere said.
