Watertown to Hold Hearing Marking 10 Years of Preservation Act

WATERTOWN — Watertown will hold a public hearing celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Community Preservation Act program, according to a report from Watertown News.

The celebratory hearing will be held at the Watertown Free Public Library, in the Watertown Savings Bank Room, according to Watertown News. Residents with questions were directed to contact Lanae Handy at lhandy@watertown-ma.gov.

The Community Preservation Act is a state law that lets communities fund affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation projects through a local property tax surcharge. Watertown voters adopted the program a decade ago, and the hearing is billed as a chance for residents to learn more about how it has been used since.
