Townsend Opens Nomination Papers for Special Election
TOWNSEND — Townsend residents seeking local office can now pull nomination papers for a Town Special Election, part of a busy fall elections calendar that includes three separate votes scheduled for September 1, October 6, and November 3.

The Town Clerk's office announced that nomination papers are now available for the upcoming Special Election, giving prospective candidates the paperwork needed to get on the ballot. The town also confirmed a busy fall voting calendar, with three elections set for September 1, October 6, and November 3. Officials have not yet detailed what will appear on each ballot, but residents are encouraged to watch for further announcements as dates approach.
Separately, the town reminded residents that registration for the 2026-2027 Curbside Trash and Recycling Program must be renewed by July 10 — just one day after this report — to ensure continued service. Town Hall also remains closed on Fridays through the end of August, a schedule change department heads put in place for the summer months.
