Littleton Finance Committee Approves Nearly $709,000 in FY26 Transfers

Finance Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026

Littleton Finance Committee reorganizes, approves nearly $709,000 in FY26 transfers. Members unanimously reappointed Steve Venuti as chair and Fred Faulkner as vice chair, and named Sanjay Gowda clerk, while welcoming new member Karen McCloskey. Treasurer and Finance Director Robin Healy presented $80,104.35 in general fund transfers plus, for the first time, $601,800 in water department and $27,000 in sewer department enterprise fund transfers.

Vice Chair Faulkner pressed on a $600,000 water main cost overrun, asking "why did they end up spending $600,000 more than they had budgeted." The fire department needed no reserve fund transfer, returning roughly $50,000 to free cash after a feared overtime spike tied to Emerson Hospital's closure never materialized. Venuti pledged the Shaker Lane school project, headed to the state building authority this month, "will not be a dime more" than what town meeting approved.
