Town Issues Cyclosporiasis Alert, Unveils Urban Forest Plan
The Town of Lexington issued a health alert regarding cyclosporiasis on Tuesday even as officials rolled out new resources on urban forestry and immigration protections for residents.
TOWN HALL
The Town issued a Cyclosporiasis Health Alert on Tuesday afternoon, directing residents to a civic alert page for details on the parasitic illness, which is often associated with contaminated produce. No additional specifics on local case counts were included in the alert itself.
Separately, the Lexington Human Rights Commission announced it has compiled a webpage of local immigration resources, intended to help residents stay informed about immigration rights, protections, and travel considerations amid ongoing national policy shifts.
The Town also highlighted progress on its Urban Forest Master Plan, a joint effort with Davey Resource Group, a subsidiary of the Davey Tree Expert Company, to establish a long-term vision for Lexington's tree canopy and urban forestry program.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Council on Aging calendar shows a run of upcoming programs, including a "Medication Safety" session, "Senior Bingo," a "Coping With Change" discussion, and "Voice Colors Yoga," part of the town's ongoing senior programming lineup for later in July.
