Sudbury Transportation Committee approves $100 emergency Uber vouchers with May 1 launch. The committee voted 5-0 to institute the program, capped at one voucher per rider per month and available 24 hours a day through an online form. Uber transit team representatives Andy Willard and Eric Cartwright walked members through the technical setup, which will auto-approve requests from riders on a shared eligibility list.

Chair Dan Cardi and member Adam Berne will finalize the rollout, with member Alice Sapienza pushing to leave the program unrestricted geographically and monitor use closely: "things start with the simpler and the easier." Council on Aging Director Nicole Boardman also reported the volunteer-driver Community Rides program launched March 1 with five or six drivers. Uber voucher spending hit about $850 last month, up roughly 40 percent.
