Sudbury Transportation Committee endorses Catch Connect expansion to Maynard and Framingham with no new local cost. MWRTA Administrator Jim Nee told the committee July 10 that a state earmark, secured after the FY27 budget passed overnight without vetoes, will fund an additional driver or van to extend microtransit service into Maynard and to a connection point near the McAuliffe Library in northern Framingham. Nee warned Sudbury will need to absorb 30 to 40 percent of local program costs by FY29.

Chair Dan Cardi will bring the proposal to the Select Board on August 11. The committee also finalized emergency Uber voucher language supplementing the existing monthly benefit, and reached consensus on FedNor accessible-vehicle contract terms of one round trip per month within a 25-mile radius with the town covering full cost. Approximately $17,000 in unused ARPA match funds remain available; the hospital shuttle pilot ended June 30.
