Sudbury Transportation Committee votes to join regional TMA for up to $5,000
Transportation Committee · Meeting of May 15, 2026
Sudbury Transportation Committee joins regional TMA and clears $100 emergency Uber vouchers for launch. The committee voted 4-0 Friday to allocate up to $5,000 for a first-year membership in a Transportation Management Association fronted by the 495/MetroWest Partnership, contingent on Cross-Town Connect winning a pending grant. Committee member Adam Bernie said the actual cost could fall to $3,000 or $4,000 as more of the five participating towns, including Acton, Maynard and Concord, join in.
Chair Dan Carty said the town's new $100,000 transportation appropriation, approved at Town Meeting, will support the effort starting July 1. Bernie also flagged roughly $41,000 in ARPA funds that must be spent by December, plus an unexpected $20,000 reimbursement check from Stow tied to the closed-out Making the Connections grant. The committee cleared the emergency ride voucher program, delivering a $100 Uber voucher within five minutes of sign-up, for rollout after final wording edits.
