Sudbury Orders Flags Lowered, Opens CPC Grant Window
SUDBURY — Flags across town were ordered to half-staff Tuesday following the death of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, while the town's Community Preservation Committee opened its window for new project proposals ahead of the May 2027 Annual Town Meeting.
TOWN HALL Town Clerk's office notice confirmed that, under G.L. c. 2, § 6A, and a Presidential Proclamation issued July 13, Governor Maura T. Healey has ordered flags at all state and municipal buildings lowered to half-staff in honor of Graham.
Separately, the town's Community Preservation Committee is now accepting qualifying project applications, with recommended projects to go before voters at the May 2027 Annual Town Meeting. The Community Preservation Act allows the town to fund open space, historic preservation, community housing and recreation projects through the program.
The town also confirmed its MWRTA Catch Connect curb-to-curb shuttle service will remain fare-free through June 30, 2027. The service runs weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
SCHOOLS The Sudbury Public Schools district posted two committee notices Tuesday: a family communication dated July 1 and notice of a School Committee executive session scheduled for July 17. Both were published to the district's news page without additional detail. The district's next regular School Committee meeting is set for July 20.
