Sudbury Housing Trust advances a $500,000-per-unit home-buying program aimed at workforce buyers. At its March 12 meeting, the trust reached consensus to pursue market-rate homes listed at up to $800,000, renovate them under public construction rules, and resell at state-formula prices to households at or below 80 percent of area median income so units count on the Subsidized Housing Inventory. A working group of Jack Ryan, Kay Bell and John Riordan presented a two-stage screening framework, and Community Housing Specialist Adam Burney urged the trust to formalize it in writing, warning that verbal policies fail because "the initial intent and purpose of the policy isn't followed within six months or a year or two years." Ryan will draft a written policy for possible adoption April 9.

The trust also approved January financials showing a $1,565,636.63 balance and set a June 9 housing round table at the Goodnow Library.
