Sudbury energy committee votes to fund sustainability coordinator four more years

Sudbury energy committee locks in four more years of sustainability coordinator funding. The Energy and Sustainability Committee voted unanimously Tuesday to continue paying 25 percent of the sustainability coordinator's salary, or $35,000 annually, for four years, after Town Manager Andy Sheehan asked the committee to extend the cost share beyond its scheduled sunset. Member Joe warned against making the commitment "indefinite," and members agreed a defined term preserves future review.

Facilities Director Sandra Duran said solar canopy renderings for police, Haskell and Curtis are being prepared for May town meeting, and that Fire Station 2's older section cannot structurally support solar. The committee also deferred a vote on roughly $6,250 for enhanced BSC Group flood inundation data to Feb. 10, after Olga Guttag argued FEMA data was inadequate: "If you put crap data in like inputs, you will get crap out."
