Sudbury DEI Commission Reshapes August Meeting After Jewish Community Outreach
The Sudbury Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission has changed course on its August meeting agenda following conversations with local Jewish leaders, dropping a planned discussion of an antisemitism definition in favor of a broader conversation about antisemitism and Jewish residents' experiences in town.

The Design Review Board's July 22 meeting was canceled, according to a notice posted by the town. No rescheduled date was listed in the announcement.
The DEI Commission's shift in its August agenda, first flagged through the town's own DEI page, follows outreach to Jewish community members and will now focus on how the commission "can be a stronger ally" to Jewish residents, per the town posting — a story Sudbury Patch also covered today.
Residents should also note that first-quarter real estate and personal property tax payments are due in early August before late charges apply, per Sudbury Patch.
SCHOOLS
Sudbury Public Schools posted a notice and agenda for a School Committee workshop scheduled for Monday, July 27, from 7 to 10 p.m. The district also posted materials this week for its July 20 School Committee meeting, including an agenda packet, and for a July 21 meeting of the district's Anti-Hate Anti-Bias Taskforce.
The district's SFFL Fall Flag Football announcement also went up this week, signaling registration information for the fall youth program is now available through the district's news page.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Sudbury Senior Center has an Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Games event set for Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., inviting residents to build their own sundaes and take part in outdoor games at the center. The center is also promoting its Game Shows and Pizza night featuring Kevin Richman, bringing game-show favorites like "Family Feud" and "Wheel of Fortune" to the center.
The Senior Center also announced it received a $225,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, awarded in June, which will support programs at the 40 Fairbank Road facility.
